The most drawn out transfer negotiations have finally come to an end and the Russian creative player Andrie Arshavin is now officially a Gooner. Fellow fans have had to wait over 6 mths to witness the czar in red and white as his former club St.Zenith refused to sell him for less than an arm and a leg. However after a month of frustration the deal was finally concluded and Arsene Wenger and company have added an experienced player that should provide more options in the attack line. Wenger has already stated that supporters should not look at Andrei as a savior. I agree, I believe that what Arshavin brings to the table is experience and more creativity that has been lacking since the many injuries that have taken toll on half our first team squad.
It will take some time for Arshavin to get a feel of the Premiership and his new team, but when he does I expect great things from the Russian. I believe he will be able to provide that berth of energy and skill that will open up defenses for Adebayor and RVP. He can also go forth and provide goals on his own. He has been known to have quite a few tricks in his arsenal such as through passes, graceful shots and mesmerising chips. If he adapts to the team as well as Nasri and Sagna, we can expect nothing but quality from the Russian. I welcome you to my club Andrie and hope you score on your debut.
