Season in review: excellent signings prt 2 Oliviera Anderson

It seems as if Alex Fergurson has made Portugal his premiere destination for scouting. Who can blame him after his investment in Ronaldo has now reaped enourmous benefits to his title and cup hopes. Last summer he decided to dip into Porto's goody bag and bring to England a young Brazilian by the name of Anderson to Old Trafford. The outcome has been a story fairy tales are made of. The young man only 19 was part of 40 million dollar trip to the country that also brought in Nani from Sporting Lisbon. Sir Alex during press releases made mention that these two would not be expected to make instant contributions to the first team. Instead they would be gradually introduced and given the time to develop into full first team members.

This was not the case. With long term injuries to first team member Paul Scoles, Anderson was forced into first team action prematurely and saw himself in the face paced high tackling game known as the BPL The result was one even the his coach could not predict. The young man shined in his position becoming a quick paced tenaicious defensive midfielder (despite being an attacking midfielder) relentless relieving his opponents of the ball and moving forward to pass it into opening lanes for the attack force to hit opponents on the counter. He went from being a boy trying to sort himself on the field (In his first appearances he seemed unsure of his position) to one that changed games, and when he was left on the bench his void was evident. Anderson has appeared 36 times this season for Man U 12 coming off the bench. Despite failing to score goals, he has now pushed Paul Scoles a Man U legend out of a sure place on the field. In his time at Man U he has also found the eyes of the Brazilian National squad and has appeared in 4 games. This young player only now needs to add goals to his lethal arsenal to become galvanized into the Man U first team squad picks.
